BlindSpot tools to save the world fast

In 1966 Kenneth Boulding described the choice between the historical 'use it up and throw it away' economy and a sustainable 'meeting needs without rising wastes' economy. He showed how today's 'linear economy' is inherently exploitative and violent, and how a 'circular economy' would underpin cooperation between people and with nature. Last year Annie Leonard made an entertaining animated film that outlines the need for this visionary shift. China has adopted circular economics as a national goal and has begun regional pilot projects, which demonstrates that policy-makers are starting to see the opportunities.

Circular economics can be implemented globally, as a strategy for the simultaneous recovery of nature, the climate, local communities, security and economic vitality. This can be achieved rapidly with a small number of economic tools, applied globally by international agreement.
